Nuffnang Lovin' X The Terrace @ Conrad Centennial Singapore

Thursday, April 24, 2014

Last Saturday, or rather roughly 3 Saturdays ago (12th April), I went for my first ever Nuffnang Lovin' event at The Terrace at Conrad Centennial Singapore. It wasn't difficult to find the place at all. I took the circle line, alighted at Promenade station and the hotel was just a 3 minute walk away.

When you enter the main doors of the hotel, the cafe is just directly on the left hand side. We were seated at the al fresco area so it's a good thing the weather wasn't scorching hot that day.

The Terrace is Conrad Centennial Singapore’s the latest gourmet gem in the Marina Bay and opened just last year in November, showcasing the hotel's award winning epicurean food and beverage offerings.

The Terrace is a treasure trove that embodies modernity, charm and sophistication, offering delicacies, artisan sandwiches, sweet treats, homemade bread and pastries, made from the finest produce, at competitive prices.

Here's what the exterior looks like. There are comfy sofas for you or you can sit at the high tables and chairs like we did.

As you can see, it looks very open as it's walls are made of glass. I guess it's so that it can entice the customer because they can see the delicious food inside.

Enter the glass door, and you've reached heaven.

We were served such an amazing spread. Hmmm. . . where to start?

Their Special Features include. . .

Breakfast And All-Day Favourites
There are the healthy options such as the Low Fat Yoghurt & Berries, Granola & Soya Milk with Strawberry and Strawberry Salad with Mint Syrup.

If you're not too concerned about the healthy options, you can choose from the Croissants (available in Chocolate, Butter or Almond), Danish (available in Apricot, Apple, Chocolate or Coconut) and Mini Muffins (available in Chocolate, Blueberry, Banana, Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut, Peacan Nut, Raisin or Almond).

Savouries and "Warm-bites"
You can choose either a Bagel (available in Smoked Salmon & Cucumber or Tuna Salad & Lettuce), Scone (either plain or cheese) or a Quiche (available in Lorraine or Vegetarian).

Signature Puffs and Pies

There are Gourmet Croissants (available in different flavours such as Tandoori Prawn Salad, Turkey Ham & Cheddar Cheese, and so on), Mini Pie (available in either Chicken or Black Pepper Chicken, or Pie (available in Braised Beef with Onion Confit, Salmon with Mash Peas or Spinach & Goat Cheese) and lastly, the Chicken Curry Puff.

You know what, I'm sorry but I for what this is called ): It had chicken and mushroom in it and I remember it being a bit dry but I think it was our fault because we took so long trying to take pictures of it plus we cut it up so I guess it dried out faster.

All of us tried the Chicken Curry Puff ($6.50).
It is made with flaky and buttery crust, filled with moist curried potatoes, spicy chicken filling. The Curry Puff is robust, spicy, savoury, spicy and crispy. As a meal on its own or as a snack, you are guaranteed to enjoy this signature item. I really liked it as it had a local taste to it. It really reminds me so much of Tip-Top curry puff, which I've loved ever since I was a little kid.

Whole Breads Fresh From The Oven
There are nineteen varieties of breads, including the much sought after Dinkel Bread, Krafkorn Bread, Dark Rye Bread, Organic Rye Bread and Organic Four Korn Bread.
(sorry I totally forgot to take a picture of the bread because I was distracted by the other food)

Fresh, Crisp Salad (only avail. Mon-Fri)
This is perfect for you if you're working nearby. You can just pick up a healthy salad at a mere cost of $10! You can choose either the Mozzarella Tomato, Terrace Specialty, Gourmet Salad or the Tuna Nicoise Salad.

T-Wrap (Shawarma) (only avail. Mon-Fri: 11:30am to 2:30pm)

Succulent chicken shavings wrapped with garlic sauce, vegetables and your choice of either wasabi or BBQ sauce. We were lucky enough to try this (as we were there on a weekend). I chose to try the BBQ flavoured one.

It tasted amazing!! Wish I ordered another one and tried the wasabi flavoured one.

Warm Meals On-The Go (only avail. Mon-Fri)
If you're rushing somewhere or you have a super short lunch break, pick up something to eat here!
You can choose either a Gratin of Penne Pasta with Vegetables & Cheddar Cheese, Baked Bolognese Lasagne, Vegetarian Lasagne or a Calzone (available in Ham, Cheese & Olives or Chicken & Mushrooms).

Decadent Indulgences
Mmhmmm, on to some sweet treats now.

They have Chocolate Pralines, Giant Cookies, Marshmallows and Macaroons (large/medium/small) in so many flavours!
I tried one of each macaroon and I must say, I was pretty impressed. It's also worth the money as the largest size costs $3.

See the tini cup at the back? That's the smallest size you can pick for coffee. So cute right? And the cup is glued together to the saucer.

Artisan Cake Creations
Savour their famed signature cake, Chocolate Royal Hazelnut Crunch, or choose from other tempting treats such as Green Tea Chestnut Amarena Cherry Gateau, Orange Chocolate Truffle, Dark Sweet Cherry Kirsch Gateau, White Chocolate Crisp, Cheese Cake and Strawberry Shortcake.  Absolutely perfect as an afternoon treat!

Famed Signature Cake: Chocolate Royal Hazelnut Crunch ($11 nett):
One word for this - wow. So much perfection in a cake.
I really loved this cake so much and it's such a pity we had to share this amongst 6 people. I should have asked for another but . . . it's too late for regrets now. Guess this will guarantee my visit back to Conrad Centennial.

Glazed Macademia Chocolate Fondant ($7 nett):
This little ball of happiness reminds me so much of a Ferrero Roche!
Okay, it's not exactly that small. So I guess it's a big version of that?

Thirst Quenchers
Coffee fans would appreciate their fine selection of coffee such as Regular Coffee, Espresso, Cafe Latte,  and Macchiato. These are available in medium and large sizes. There's even a really small size, upon request. There are also Terrace Signature Frappes such as Caramel Macchiato Bast, Melon Matcha, The Gula Frappe and many others. However, I didn't try the coffee because I wasn't in a coffee mood that day. But I heard from the other bloggers that it tasted pretty good!

If you aren't in a coffee mood like me, you can try one of their many refreshing drinks available, such as Charlie's Bottled Fresh Chilled Juice (available in Orange, Spirulina, Mango or Assorted Fruits & Berries), Spirulina Organic Juice (available in Apple or Guava), Phoenix Organic Soda (available in Cola, Cola Light or Ginger Beer) and Stewart's Retro Flavours (available in Root-Beer or Key Lime).

For myself, I picked out the Charlie's Honest Spirulina Whole Fruit Smoothie ($6).
What an amazing choice. It's so refreshing and made me feel so healthy! It's a mixture of Apple, Banana, Orange, Kiwifruit and Spirulina. It did make me slightly full so I guess it's good for you if you're on a diet or trying to cut down on your food intake and it's so healthy because it's made solely of fruits!

We were also given gifts in such cute little boxes!

Sneaked a peek and awwww. . . we each got a cute little macaroon!

Here are the bloggers I shared a table with. So sorry man but idk their blog names /:

Oh and we had one last treat before leaving! A cute little cupcake. If you've read my blog and followed me on Instagram, you'd see that I have a huge weakness for cupcakes.

This. . . was. . . heavenly!
The top was chocolate and the bottom was pinkish so I guess it was either cherry or strawberry? Not too sure because I gobbled it down.
*digs hole and hides*
